The Misunderstood, The Unruly, The One That Never Fit the Mold

Problem Child opened in November 2025 on Jupiter Street, Makati — one of Metro Manila's most storied bar strips. From the first cryptic Instagram post ("Watching. Waiting. Not for long."), it telegraphed a different kind of bar: one that wasn't interested in fitting in.

The cocktail program is ingredient-forward and unapologetic — brown butter-washed rum, white onion in mezcal, citrus milk-clarified with precision. Every drink is a small act of rebellion against the expected.

In just a few months, Problem Child hosted bartenders from Hong Kong, Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Kumamoto, and Jakarta — and earned recognition from Tatler Dining Philippines as one of the country's best bars. More problems ahead.

"Cocktails moved fast and sold out early. Some came out better than expected — and they all hit just right."

— From Instagram post on Bar Yakoboku guest shift, January 2026

"The COA Hong Kong guest shift was pure chaos, in the best way possible. Lines out the door, cocktail orders piling up — the energy was unmatched."
